The All Progressives Congress (APC) prominent stakeholders from Zone B area of Kogi Local government area assembled to honored their leader and Executive Chairman of the Kogi State Civil Service Commission, Barrister Muhammed Tanko Musa Osuku, whom they extolled as a mentor and political leader in all front.

Barr. Muhammed Tanko Musa Osuku held a Ramadan Iftar dinner for his people in Zone B, Kogi local government area on Friday, March 28, 2025, demonstrating his commitment to unity and appreciation, and reaffirming their support and solidarity for Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo of Kogi State.

Barr. Tanko, a prominent politician and APC leader who served as Chairman of Kogi LG from 2016 – 2019, provided dividends to his constituents including empowerment initiatives for women and youths amongst others.

Alhaji Tanko described the coming together of his people of Zone B as a historic moment, urging them to maintain unity in order to continue reaping benefits from the government.

During an Iftar dinner he hosted for four electoral wards of Zone B, including Koton-Karfe South East, Irenedu, Tawari and Akpasu, Barr. Tanko stated that Zone B remains the heartbeat of Kogi LG, emphasizing that their voting strength consistently determines the electoral outcome of Kogi LG.

He acknowledged his gratitude to God for his people’s acceptance of his invitation and saw the unity of purpose as the source of strength of the area.

He stated that the Ramadan Iftar reception was specifically organised to pay tribute to the party leaders and supporters who worked tirelessly to secure the victory of APC and Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo in the last general elections.

Tanko, who holds the titles of Makaka Dogo of Osuku chiefdom and Dan-Masani of Koton-Karfe Kingdom, informed his distinguished visitors that Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo has exceeded the expectations of the Kogi people, particularly those in Kogi local government, and urged support for his reelection bid to facilitate further positive developments.

He revealed that he and Engineer Muhammed Abubakar Bashir Gegu, Commissioner for Solid Minerals and Natural Resources, are working diligently to ensure their constituents benefit more from the current administration, just as they did under the previous one led by former Governor Yahaya Adoza Bello.

The Civil Service Boss, in a display of enthusiasm, joined his people in openly endorsing Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo for a second term, affirming that the Governor has performed admirably and validated the confidence placed in him by the people of Kogi State.

Barr. Tanko stated that he will deliver Zone B’s message of endorsement for Governor Ododo to the Commissioner representing Kogi LG, Engineer Muhammed Abubakar Bashir Gegu, in order to convey the zone’s unwavering support for the Governor reelection bid.

Tanko, an award-winning legal luminary, acknowledged the support and solidarity of his people over the years, noting that such support would not be misplaced and would motivate him to achieve more.

He stated that he has been authorized by Mr. Musa Abdulkarim Anegbachi, a prominent stakeholder and stalwart of the All Progressives Congress (APC), to speak on behalf of zone B.

He appreciated the efforts of the council vice Chairperson, Kogi local party Chairman, Hon Abubakar Onah, Woman leader, and zone B electoral ward chairmen in making the event successful.

He also expressed gratitude to those who came from Zone A and C in solidarity with Zone B leadership, describing them as the best friends of Zone B as he wished them a safe return to their destination.

Speaking for the party leadership, the Chairman of All Progressives Congress (APC) for Kogi local government area, Hon Abubakar Onah, praised Barrister Tanko as an intelligent leader who has served his people diligently and with fear of God.

Onah, hailing from Zone B, affirmed that the area is solidly behind Barr. Tanko’s leadership and commended his achievements.

He noted that the crowd who honoured his invitation were motivated by their admiration for him, highlighting that his leadership and humility are qualities worthy of aspiration.

Onah prayed to God to continue blessing, protecting and guiding Barrister Tanko Musa Osuku so that the people of Zone B will continue to benefit and tap from his wealth of experience.

Global Times Nigeria reports that serving and former party leaders attended the event, with some sending representatives to represent them at the occasion.

The event included the breaking of Ramadan fast, with the organiser offering a range of food items.
