Contractor Returns to Iluhagba–Egbe Road as Karimi Secures N9bn Funding

Construction work has resumed on the Iluhagba–Mopa–Isanlu–Egbe federal road, following the remobilisation of contractor CGC to the project site, with visible progress already recorded along the Isanlu–Ejiba axis.
Senator Sunday Karimi, who represents Kogi West Senatorial District, confirmed the development, attributing the contractor’s return to the successful securing of N9 billion for the project.
According to him, N3 billion was appropriated in the 2025 budget, while an additional N6 billion was facilitated through engagements with the Ministry of Works.
The lawmaker expressed appreciation to Bola Ahmed Tinubu and David Umahi for their support in reviving the long-awaited road project.
He noted that the reconstruction of the road would significantly enhance economic activities, ease transportation, and improve security across communities in the area.
“I am confident that this road will improve the lives and security of our people,” Karimi stated, adding that the administration’s Renewed Hope Agenda is steadily delivering tangible results in Kogi West and across the country.
The Iluhagba–Mopa–Isanlu–Egbe road remains a critical federal route linking several communities within Kogi West Senatorial District.
