Toto LG Chairman Targets Rural Electrification, Commissions Water Project
The Executive Chairman of Toto Local Government Council, Pharm Ahmed Baba Yahaya, has reiterated his administration’s commitment to expanding electricity access to rural communities, with plans to connect more areas to the national grid.
He made this known during the commissioning of a borehole project in Buga Sabo community, Toto Local Government Area of Nasarawa State, on Wednesday, April 22, 2026.
The borehole, constructed and donated by Society for Family Health, is aimed at improving access to clean water and enhancing the overall wellbeing of residents.
Speaking at the event, the council chairman assured the community of his administration’s resolve to provide essential social amenities that will improve living conditions across Toto LGA.
He highlighted several projects already executed under his leadership and emphasized ongoing efforts to extend electricity to underserved rural areas.
While expressing appreciation to the Society for Family Health for its intervention in the water sector, Yahaya urged residents of Buga Sabo to make proper use of the facility and ensure its sustainability through responsible management.
In her remarks, the Project Director of the organization, Pharm. Jane Adaeze Chinyere, commended the local government chairman for partnering with the organisation to improve the lives of the people.
She noted that the organisation has been operating in Nasarawa State since 2021, focusing on supporting vulnerable communities.
Chinyere added that the organisation remains committed to strengthening its collaboration with the local government to deliver more impactful interventions in the area.
