The Nigerian Defence Academy (NDA) has announced that its online application portal for the 2026 academic session will close on Friday, May 15, 2026.
According to a statement issued on Friday by the Director General of the Delta State Bureau for Orientation and Communications, Fred Latimore Oghenesivbe, the application fee is N7,000, payable through the REMITA platform via the official NDA application portal.
He explained that the application is open to qualified male and female Nigerians between the ages of 17 and 21, who possess a minimum of five O’Level credits in SSCE, GCE, or NECO examinations.
Oghenesivbe urged prospective candidates to also register with the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB), select NDA as their first choice, and participate in the Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME).
He further outlined key application procedures, including the use of a valid email address and phone number to create a profile, generation of a Remita Retrieval Reference (RRR) code for payment, completion of the online application form, upload of required documents such as O’Level results, and printing of the acknowledgement slip.
The screening test for the 78th Regular Course of the academy is scheduled to hold on Saturday, June 6, 2026. Applicants have been advised to prepare adequately for the exercise.
Successful candidates will undergo a four-year academic programme at the NDA, upon which they will earn a degree and be commissioned as officers into the Armed Forces of Nigeria by the President and Commander-in-Chief.
