The Senator representing Kogi West Senatorial District, Sunday Steve Karimi, has reaffirmed his commitment to the development of Lokoja/Kogi Federal Constituency, declaring that the siting of his first major project in Koton-Karfe was a demonstration of his love and dedication to the area.

Speaking on Sunday during an expanded stakeholders’ meeting for Lokoja/Kogi Federal Constituency held at the Speaker’s Lodge of the Kogi State House of Assembly, Senator Karimi said his vision for the constituency remains unwavering and sacred.

According to the lawmaker, the decision to locate his first gigantic project in Koton-Karfe, headquarters of Kogi Local Government Area, was deliberate, strategic and well thought out.

He noted that his developmental projects are spread across the seven local government areas of Kogi West Senatorial District, adding that he remains determined to do even more if given another opportunity to serve beyond 2027.

Senator Karimi described the people of Lokoja/Kogi Federal Constituency as his strongest political backers, recalling the support they gave him during the 2023 senatorial election campaign.

“They followed me to every nook and cranny of Kogi West to ensure my victory in the 2023 election,” he said while appreciating party stakeholders and supporters for their loyalty and steadfastness.

On the issue of reconciliation within the ruling party, Senator Karimi dismissed speculations of any rift between him and former Governor Yahaya Adoza Bello as well as the incumbent Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo.

He described both leaders as brothers, insisting that there was no misunderstanding between them and reaffirming his commitment to unity and cooperation within the party in Kogi State.
