In a congratulatory message issued shortly after the conclusion of the party’s governorship primaries, Maikaya thanked delegates, supporters and stakeholders who participated in the democratic process, describing the exercise as a reflection of the APC’s internal democracy.
Commends Transparent Primary Election
The APC stalwart commended the party leadership for conducting what he described as a peaceful and transparent primary election, saying the outcome demonstrated the commitment of the party to democratic principles.
According to him, while contests are inevitable in every democratic process, the overall interest of the APC and the future of Nasarawa State should remain paramount.
He stressed that the emergence of Senator Wadada presents another opportunity for the party to consolidate on the developmental strides recorded under the administration of Governor Abdullahi Sule.
Calls for Unity Among APC Members
Maikaya appealed to all aspirants, their supporters and party faithful to set aside differences arising from the primary election and unite behind the party’s candidate.
He noted that the APC’s strength lies in its unity, discipline and collective resolve to deliver quality leadership to the people of Nasarawa State.
“There is no victor and no vanquished in this exercise. We are one family under the APC, and our collective responsibility is to ensure victory for our great party in the forthcoming governorship election,” he said.
Pledges Loyalty to APC
The former governorship aspirant reaffirmed his commitment to the APC, pledging to continue supporting initiatives aimed at strengthening the party and promoting good governance in Nasarawa State.
He assured Senator Wadada of his unwavering support and pledged to work with other stakeholders to mobilise support across the state’s three senatorial districts.
Maikaya also expressed appreciation to Governor Abdullahi Sule, party executives, delegates and supporters for their confidence in the democratic process, urging members to remain focused on the larger objective of retaining the state for the APC.
Urges Focus on Development
He called on APC members to shift attention from the primary contest to the task of presenting a united front capable of addressing the developmental aspirations of the people.
According to Maikaya, the next phase of political engagement should centre on policies that promote economic growth, infrastructure development, quality education, healthcare, youth empowerment, agriculture and job creation.
He emphasised that unity, reconciliation and mutual respect among party members would be critical to the APC’s success in the next general election.
Looking Ahead to 2027
Maikaya expressed optimism that, with unity and cooperation, the APC would remain the preferred choice of the people of Nasarawa State.
He urged party members to intensify grassroots mobilisation and continue supporting programmes that would strengthen the party ahead of the 2027 governorship poll.
