Erico Appreciates Kogi East Supporters After APC Primary Victory
The All Progressives Congress (APC) Senatorial Flagbearer for Kogi East Senatorial District, Chief Dr. Joseph Ameh Erico, has expressed heartfelt appreciation to the people of the district for their unwavering support and confidence that culminated in his victory at the party’s recently concluded senatorial primary election.
Speaking during a grand reception organised in his honour at Ejule in Ofu Local Government Area of Kogi State, Chief Dr. Erico described his emergence as the APC candidate as a victory for the entire people of Kogi East.
The colourful event attracted party leaders, stakeholders, government officials, youths, women groups, supporters, and well-wishers from the nine local government areas that make up the senatorial district.
Notable personalities at the gathering included the Deputy Governor of Kogi State, Comrade Joel Salifu; the State Auditor General, Alhaji Yakubu Yusuf Okala; the APC Kogi East Zonal Chairman, Hon. Ogwu Abdul Alhassan; the Deputy Speaker of the Kogi State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Comfort Nwuchiola Egwaba; and the Vice Chancellor of Prince Abubakar Audu University, Anyigba, Prof. Salisu Usman Ogbo, alongside commissioners, council chairmen, political appointees, and other party stalwarts.
Addressing the gathering, Chief Dr. Erico thanked APC leaders, members, and supporters across Kogi East for their loyalty, unity, and steadfast support throughout the primary election process.
He pledged to remain accessible and committed to the welfare and development of the people, assuring that their trust in him would not be taken for granted.
The APC flagbearer commended President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for his leadership at the national level and praised Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo for sustaining purposeful governance and promoting development across Kogi State.
He also applauded Governor Ododo for fostering unity, peace, and inclusive leadership within the APC, noting that the governor’s style of administration has continued to strengthen the party in the state.
Chief Dr. Erico further paid tribute to former Governor Yahaya Bello for laying what he described as a strong political foundation that has continued to enhance the fortunes of the APC in Kogi State.
According to him, the overwhelming support he received from party faithful and the people of Kogi East reflects the collective resolve of the district to pursue greater political and socio-economic advancement.
He assured constituents that if elected as senator representing Kogi East, he would prioritise quality representation, youth empowerment, women inclusion, infrastructure development, educational support, agricultural growth, improved healthcare delivery, and human capital development.
Chief Dr. Erico also promised to maintain an open-door leadership style that would accommodate all segments of the district irrespective of political, ethnic, or religious affiliations.
He called on the people of Kogi East to remain united and peaceful ahead of the forthcoming general election, stressing that unity and collective commitment remain vital to sustainable development in the district.
The event ended with prayers for the success of the APC, the administration of Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo, and continued peace, progress, and unity in Kogi East and Kogi State at large.
