Inter Milan Re-Sign Aleksander Stanković from Club Brugge in €23 Million Deal
Italian giants Inter Milan have activated the buy-back clause in the contract of highly-rated Serbian midfielder Aleksander Stanković, completing a €23 million deal with Belgian side Club Brugge.
The agreement was finalized on Friday, marking the return of the 20-year-old to the Nerazzurri after an impressive spell in Belgium that significantly boosted his reputation across Europe.
Stanković, the son of former Inter and Serbia legend Dejan Stanković, joined Club Brugge after progressing through Inter’s youth ranks.
During his time in Belgium, the midfielder established himself as one of the club’s most promising young talents, attracting attention with his composure on the ball, tactical intelligence, and versatility in midfield.
Inter had inserted a buy-back clause into the original transfer agreement, allowing the Serie A club to retain control over the player’s future development. Following his strong performances for Club Brugge, the Italian side decided to trigger the clause and bring him back to San Siro.
The €23 million move underlines Inter’s confidence in Stanković’s long-term potential and their intention to integrate more young talent into the first-team setup. Club Brugge, meanwhile, secure a significant financial return on the player while continuing their reputation as a club that develops and showcases emerging stars.
Stanković is expected to join Inter’s pre-season preparations ahead of the new campaign, where he will have the opportunity to impress the coaching staff and compete for a place in the senior squad.
The move represents another important step in the career of the Serbian youngster, who will now look to follow in the footsteps of his father by making a lasting impact at Inter Milan.
