Dennis Osadebay University Warns Public Against Fake Nursing Admission Advertisement
The management of Dennis Osadebay University (DOU), Asaba, has cautioned prospective students, parents, guardians, and the general public against a fraudulent advertisement falsely claiming that the institution is conducting a Post-UTME exercise for admission into its Nursing programme.
In a disclaimer published in the university’s newsletter on June 6, 2026, the institution revealed that unscrupulous individuals and admission racketeers are circulating misleading information aimed at deceiving unsuspecting candidates seeking admission into its Nursing programmes.
The university stressed that it has not authorized any individual, group, agent, or third party to advertise, process, facilitate, or collect money on its behalf for admission into any of its academic programmes, including Nursing.
According to the management, members of the public should disregard the fake advertisement and refrain from making payments or submitting personal information to anyone promoting the illegal scheme. It warned that individuals who transact with such fraudsters do so at their own risk.
DOU further clarified that all admission-related information for the 2026/2027 academic session is released exclusively through its official communication channels and approved platforms. Prospective applicants were therefore urged to verify any admission information directly with the university before taking action.
The institution disclosed that the matter has been reported to the relevant security agencies for thorough investigation, with efforts underway to identify and prosecute those responsible for the fraudulent activity.
Reaffirming its commitment to transparency, integrity, and due process, the university assured prospective students that its admission procedures remain fair, credible, and strictly in line with established guidelines.
The management also called on the public to remain vigilant and exercise caution when responding to admission advertisements circulating on social media and other unofficial platforms, noting that scammers often exploit the desperation of admission seekers for financial gain.
Dennis Osadebay University reiterated that only information disseminated through its official channels should be regarded as authentic and trustworthy, emphasizing that safeguarding the integrity of its admission process remains a top priority.
The institution assured prospective candidates of a transparent and merit-based admission exercise for the 2026/2027 academic session and urged all stakeholders to report suspicious admission-related activities to the appropriate authorities.
