FATHER’S DAY: OLuchi Oparah Celebrates Fathers, Commends Their Sacrifices and Enduring Love

…Says fathers’ sacrifices matter and their rewards will surely come

The National Organizing Secretary of the Labour Party, Oluchi Oparah, has paid glowing tribute to fathers across the world, particularly Nigerian fathers, in commemoration of the 2026 Father’s Day celebration.

In a goodwill message issued on Sunday, June 21, Oparah described fathers as one of God’s greatest gifts to humanity, applauding their resilience, sacrifices, and unwavering commitment to the well-being of their families and society.

She noted that fathers serve as pillars of strength, providers, protectors, mentors, and guides who bear enormous responsibilities in ensuring their families enjoy hope and opportunities for a better future.

According to her, many fathers make countless sacrifices that often go unnoticed, carrying silent burdens, enduring disappointments, and confronting life’s uncertainties with remarkable courage.

“Despite the challenges they face, fathers continue to press forward, driven by love, duty, and an enduring desire to see their families thrive,” she said.

Oparah further praised fathers of integrity and character, describing them as men of wisdom, compassion, and emotional strength who lead with love, nurture with patience, and stand firmly for what is right.

She stressed that the true legacy of a father is not measured by wealth or social status, but by the values, faith, and love he instills in his family.

She also acknowledged fathers whose efforts are rarely appreciated, assuring them that their labour is valued and their impact immeasurable.

She encouraged fathers to take time to rest, care for themselves, and cherish meaningful moments with their loved ones.

Oparah reminded fathers that strength does not mean the absence of emotions, but the courage to keep moving forward despite life’s difficulties.

She offered prayers for divine blessings upon fathers, asking God to prosper the work of their hands, strengthen them in moments of weakness, and grant them peace, joy, good health, and prosperity.

She also paid tribute to fathers who have passed on, remembering them with love and gratitude while praying for the peaceful repose of their souls.

“Happy Father’s Day to all the wonderful fathers making a difference every day. May God richly bless and reward all fathers for their immeasurable contributions to their families, communities, and society at large,” she stated.
