2027 Abia Race: Doris Ogala Names Obika James Abuchi Official Spokesperson

The governorship candidate of the African Action Congress (AAC) in Abia State, Dr. Doris Ogala, has appointed Obika James Abuchi as her official spokesperson, effective July 1, 2026.
In a letter conveying the appointment, Ogala said Abuchi’s selection was based on his outstanding passion, creativity, and demonstrated competence in media and communication, as well as his commitment to promoting her vision and political aspirations.
She noted that the appointment aligns with her mission to restore the dignity of Abia State through quality leadership and good governance.
According to the AAC governorship candidate, Abuchi will be responsible for overseeing information dissemination, managing campaign publicity and related activities, strengthening communication between her and the people of Abia State, and supporting media-driven initiatives
Ogala expressed confidence that Abuchi’s experience and expertise would add value to her campaign structure and enhance public engagement.
A native of Isuochi in Umunneochi Local Government Area of Abia State, Abuchi is married with three children.
He attended Christ the King College, Onitsha, for his secondary education before earning a degree in Mass Communication from National Open University of Nigeria.
He is currently pursuing a master’s degree at Tansian University.
He has spent over two decades working with various politicians in different capacities.
Beyond politics, he is an entrepreneur and a notable social media influencer in Nigeria’s South-East region.
Congratulating the appointee, Ogala said she looks forward to his continued contributions toward advancing her campaign and the AAC’s vision for Abia State.
