Aondoakaa Meets PDP Assembly Candidates, Urges Stronger Grassroots Mobilisation
By James Ian
The governorship candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) for the 2027 Benue State election, Chief Michael Kaase Aondoakaa (SAN), has met with the party’s House of Assembly candidates from the state’s 37 constituencies, urging them to intensify grassroots mobilisation ahead of the polls.
The strategic meeting, held to strengthen unity and collaboration within the party, also provided an opportunity for the candidates to familiarise themselves with one another and harmonise strategies aimed at securing victory for the PDP in the 2027 general elections.
Addressing the candidates, Aondoakaa stressed the need for a united front, noting that electoral success could only be achieved through collective commitment, discipline and purposeful leadership.
He charged the candidates to return to their respective constituencies and immediately step up grassroots mobilisation by reconnecting with the people at the ward and polling unit levels.
He also urged them to strengthen party structures and remain visible and accessible to their constituents.
The former Attorney-General of the Federation said the path to victory begins at the grassroots, encouraging every candidate to work diligently to earn the trust and support of the electorate while promoting the ideals and vision of the PDP across the state.
Speaking on behalf of the candidates, Aondona Dajoh, alongside representatives of the three senatorial zones — Bemgba Iortyom, Tersoo Gyila and Egli Johnson — reaffirmed their commitment to the party’s victory.
They urged party members to remain focused and avoid complacency, assuring Aondoakaa of their resolve to stay united, work tirelessly across their constituencies, and deploy every legitimate effort to secure victory for the PDP at all levels in the 2027 elections.
Other speakers at the meeting included Abrahams Kwaghngu and Terwase Iyusa.
