The commendation was made during an emergency Senate meeting held on Tuesday at the university auditorium, where members applauded the management’s measures aimed at improving campus security and maintaining a stable academic environment.

According to the university, Senate members expressed support for the administration’s efforts to reposition the institution and pledged continued cooperation in pursuing its academic and developmental objectives.

Responding, Professor Usman thanked members of the Senate for the recognition, saying the progress recorded by the university was the result of teamwork involving the management, Senate and the wider university community.

Meanwhile, the Senate approved a proposal for the establishment of a Centre for Continuing Education, subject to ratification by the University Council. The proposed centre is expected to expand access to educational opportunities through continuing education programmes.

Under the approved calendar, returning students are expected to resume on Sunday, October 12, 2026, while newly admitted students will resume on Sunday, October 26, 2026.
