The All Progressives Congress (APC) Elders Forum in Toto Local Government Area of Nasarawa State has declared its continued support for Executive Chairman, Pharmacist Ahmed Baba Yahaya and pledged to mobilise voters for the party ahead of the 2027 general elections.
The forum made the declaration during a meeting with the local government chairman on Sunday, August 30, 2026.
The chairman was represented at the meeting by the Supervisor Councillor for Works, Housing and Transport, Alhaji Danlami Usman Garkuwa.
The elders, led in their presentation by Alhaji Musa Ozeremi, said they had evaluated the performance of the administration and were convinced that the government was moving in the right direction.
PA Ozeremi specifically cited developmental achievements recorded under the leadership of Nasarawa State Governor Abdullahi Sule as part of the reasons for the forum’s continued support for the APC.
He pledged the commitment of the elders to ensuring that APC candidates, including Senator Ahmed Aliyu Wadada, receive strong grassroots backing during the 2027 elections.
‘We Will Continue to Support APC’
The forum said it would work towards ensuring that the APC secures victory across the various levels of government.
Responding, Ahmed Baba Yahaya thanked the elders for their confidence in the APC administration and commended their wisdom and steadfastness.
Speaking through Garkuwa, the chairman assured the forum that his administration would continue to engage with the elders and support initiatives that would promote their interests.

He nevertheless warned against political actors who, according to him, approach elders only when they need political support and later abandon them.
The chairman urged the elders to remain vigilant, united and patriotic while working towards the continued strength of the APC in Toto Local Government Area.
