The Director of Women Mobilisation of the All Progressives Congress (APC) Presidential Campaign Council, Dr Betta Edu, has described the traditional titles recently conferred on First Lady Senator Oluremi Tinubu in Imo and Anambra states as evidence of her growing recognition across Nigeria.
Senator Tinubu was honoured as Oso Di Eme 1 of Imo State and Ugoeze of Anambra State.
Edu, while congratulating the First Lady, said the honours went beyond political affiliation, noting that they recognised her contribution to national development, grassroots initiatives and social interventions.
According to her, the Oso Di Eme title aptly captures Senator Tinubu’s role as a supportive partner to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
Edu said the First Lady had continued to support the President’s Renewed Hope Agenda through programmes focused on vulnerable Nigerians.
“Her Excellency, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, CON, the Mother of the Nation, is indeed a worthy partner of her husband, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR,” she said.
The APC women’s directorate also congratulated the First Lady on her Ugoeze title in Anambra, which was conferred by HRM Igwe Chidubem Iweka.
Edu said the recognition demonstrated that Senator Tinubu’s activities were being noticed outside political and geographical boundaries.
She pointed to several initiatives undertaken during the First Lady’s Anambra visit as examples of her social intervention efforts.
Among them was the flag-off of the National Community Food Bank Programme, designed to tackle child malnutrition in the South-East.
According to Edu, the programme’s rollout across the six geopolitical zones represents a significant development in efforts to improve child nutrition and assist vulnerable families.
At the Federal Polytechnic Oko, Senator Tinubu inaugurated the RHI/TETFUND ICT Experience Centre and encouraged students to embrace technology responsibly.
She also urged young Nigerians to explore emerging opportunities, including artificial intelligence.
The First Lady further flagged off the distribution of empowerment items supplied by the Anambra State Government to 5,000 beneficiaries, with each beneficiary receiving a ₦100,000 financial grant.
Edu commended the people and traditional institutions of Imo and Anambra for honouring the First Lady.

She said the titles should be viewed as recognition of Senator Tinubu’s contribution to the welfare and development of Nigerians.
The APC women’s mobilisation directorate prayed for continued wisdom, strength, good health and divine guidance for the First Lady as she continues to support the President and contribute to the realisation of the Renewed Hope Agenda.
