The Director General, Delta State Bureau for Orientation and Communications, Dr. Fred Latimore Oghenesivbe, Esq., has congratulated the Very Rev. Fr. Christopher Ekabo, JP, on the occasion of his 28th Priestly Anniversary.

Oghenesivbe described the Catholic priest as a selfless servant of God and humanity whose 28 years in priestly ministry have been characterised by sacrifice, compassion, integrity and commitment to the spiritual and social wellbeing of the people.

In a goodwill message issued to mark the anniversary celebrated on September 19, 2026, the Bureau DG described the milestone as a remarkable testimony of faith, perseverance and dedicated service in the vineyard of the Lord.

According to Oghenesivbe, Fr. Ekabo’s 28-year priestly journey has extended beyond sacramental and pastoral responsibilities to include contributions to social justice, community development, public relations, Christian pilgrimage and civic engagement.

He commended the priest for demonstrating that priesthood is not only a vocation to spiritual leadership but also a call to serve humanity, promote peace, build bridges across communities and contribute to societal development.

Oghenesivbe also acknowledged Fr. Ekabo’s support for the administration of Governor Sheriff Oborevwori, noting that the priest has expressed confidence in the Governor’s MORE Agenda and commended the administration’s development efforts, particularly in infrastructure and the delivery of democratic dividends across Delta State.

The Bureau DG particularly highlighted Fr. Ekabo’s service as Executive Secretary of the Delta State Christian Pilgrims Welfare Board.

He said the position provides an important platform for promoting the spiritual growth, welfare and Christian fellowship of pilgrims from Delta State.

Oghenesivbe noted that the responsibility aligns with the state’s engagement with faith-based organisations and the administration’s vision of a praying state.

He further described Fr. Ekabo as a bridge-builder and accessible servant-leader whose engagements have cut across religious, community, professional and public-service spheres.

Reflecting on their personal relationship, Oghenesivbe said their shared engagements in Christian pilgrimage, communications, community affairs and public service had given him the opportunity to witness the priest’s dedication to service.

“Twenty-eight years in the Lord’s vineyard represents thousands of hours of prayer, pastoral care, counselling, sacrifice and service to humanity. It is a journey that only God can fully measure,” Oghenesivbe said.

He prayed that Almighty God would continue to strengthen Fr. Ekabo, renew his grace, deepen his wisdom and grant him many more fruitful years in the priestly ministry.

“Dear Father Ekabo, 28 years in the Lord’s vineyard is a remarkable achievement, but it is also a call to greater service. May God continue to make you an instrument of peace, reconciliation, compassion and hope,” he said.

Oghenesivbe, on behalf of his family, colleagues, associates and those whose lives have been touched by Fr. Ekabo’s ministry, congratulated the priest on the significant anniversary.

He prayed for continued divine guidance and protection for Fr. Ekabo as he carries out his priestly responsibilities and contributes to the spiritual and social development of people in Delta State and beyond.

“May the years ahead bring you greater opportunities to serve God and humanity. Ad multos annos, dear Father!” he added.
