In his congratulatory message, the Bureau DG maintained that the governor deserved the recognition, noting that the qualities acknowledged by CAN underscored the importance of character, accountability and people-oriented governance in public office.

“Governor Oborevwori eminently deserves this distinguished honour. The qualities recognised by CAN; integrity, ethical leadership, compassion and commitment to nation-building are essential principles that should guide public office holders and shape leadership that places the welfare of the people at its heart.

“By conferring this award on our Governor, CAN has recognised the significance of faith, character and service to humanity in public life. It is a commendable recognition, and we congratulate His Excellency on this well-deserved honour,” Oghenesivbe said.

He further observed that the governor’s expression of gratitude to God and his description of the award as a call to greater service demonstrated an appreciation of public office as a responsibility that requires humility, dedication and accountability.

According to the Director-General, leadership recognition should serve not only as an acknowledgement of past contributions but also as an encouragement to sustain purposeful service and commitment to the welfare of the people.

Oghenesivbe also commended CAN for using its golden jubilee celebration to recognise individuals whose contributions to public service and national development reflect values capable of strengthening society.

He stressed that faith-based institutions have an important role to play in promoting peaceful coexistence, social cohesion, moral responsibility and responsible leadership across the country.

The Bureau DG equally highlighted Governor Oborevwori’s call for unity among the different blocs within the Christian community, describing cooperation, dialogue and mutual understanding as essential ingredients for national unity and sustainable development.

He urged Deltans to draw inspiration from the recognition by embracing peace, responsible citizenship and community development while supporting initiatives that advance the collective interests of Delta State.
