32nd Anniversary: Ex-Nigerian minister, Uche Ogah speaks on Abia after creation by Babangida

A former Nigerian Minister of State for Mines and Steel Development, Dr Uchechukwu Ogah, on Sunday, bared his minds on the journey of Abia state after its creation in last 32 years.
Our correspondent recalls that Abia was created on 27th August, 1991 by the then military administration led by Major General Ibrahim Badamosi Babangida (Rtd).
Abia, otherwise called ‘God’s Own State’, was curved out from old Imo state in southeast geopolitical zone before its creation was pronounced by the same military regime.
Earlier, Dr Ogah, a former Abia Governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), while baring his minds in a statement issued by his political structure, Abia Rejoice Movement (ARM), on Sunday, lauded all founding fathers of who worked tirelessly for the creation of our beloved Abia state.
The statement was jointly signed by the group’s Director General, Hon Chibuzor Okogbuo, and the Head of New media, Comrade Chima Obiwuru.
He also applauded the present administration led Governor Alex Otti for the feats he had recorded so far in rebuilding Abia to higher pedestal in socio-economic and infrastructural developments.
Ogah partly stated: “32 years ago, the state of Abia was pronounced as created by the then military President of Nigeria, General Ibrahim Badamosi Babangida.
“It is our earnest prayers that God almighty will continue to direct the affairs of Abia state and imbue the leadership of our dear state with wisdom to pilots the affairs for a more prosperous and secured Abia. For, “except the lord build the house, they labour in vain that build it. And except the lord keeps the city, the watchman waketh but in vain”…Psalms 127:1”.
“On behalf of our reverred Principal and Doyen of Abia Rejoice Movement, Dr Uchechukwu Sampson Ogah (CON), FCA, and with every sense of solidarity, we felicitate with the Executive Governor, Dr Alex Chioma Otti (OFR), Government of Abia State and the good people of Abia state on feat we attained today.
“In the same vein, we reiterate the mantra of our principal and the State of Abia call: “Think home, think Abia and invest in Abia. Congratulations Ndi-Abia and Happy 32nd-anniversary celebration”.
