The member-elect for Umuahia central constituency seat in Abia state house of assembly and Chieftain of the Labour Party (LP), Barrister Chinasa Anthony-Abiola has assured the newly elected lawmakers and returning members of the state assembly will render all necessary supports and cooperation to the Governor-elect of Abia state, Dr Alex Chioma Otti, to succeed immediately the executive and legislative arms of government are inaugurated in June this year.
Speaking to journalists recently after receiving his certificate of return presented by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), which took place in Umuahia, the Abia state capital, Anthony-Abiola also assured that the soon-to-be inaugurated state house of assembly will not rest on its oars in removing all bottlenecks impeding prompt payment of salaries to workers in ministries, departments and agencies of the executive arm of government in Abia state.
According to Abia lawmaker-elect, an actionable legislations will be made to effect and ensure regular payment of entitlements accrued and owed to retirees of the state workforce.
“We will make laws to ensure effectiveness efficiency and responsiveness in our state civil service administrations and system. We shall complement every positive efforts of the incoming state executive arm of government.
Anthony-Abiola added that the newly elected member-elects and the returning lawmakers shall also uphold sanctity of separation of powers between the executive, legislature and judiciary arms of the state government, and further assured that the soon-to-be inaugurated leadership of Abia house of assembly shall interchange regularly with the relevant ministries and agencies of the state government towards addressing numerous economic and Infrastructural deficits adorning everywhere in the state for good of Abia populaces.
He further used the medium to solicit the full supports of the populaces to the incoming administration of the new Governor-elect of Abia state, Dr Alex Chioma Otti, to be able to foster the needed economic growth and Infrastructural development in every parts of the state.
His words: “We will also give him every necessary backing and full support to engender improvement and building of gigantic developmental projects that will stand the test of time, unlike many decaying Infrastructures constructed with sub-standard building materials not meant for road Infrastructure”.
