Edo State Police Command warned residents against peddling fake news and hate speech, and encouraged people to abide by the rules of engagement in order to sustain peace in the State
The attention of the Edo State Police Command has been drawn to information circulating on social media that the new Commissioner of Police for Edo State, CP Nemi Edwin-Iwo PSC (+), has disbanded the Edo Security Network. The Command categorically states that this information is not only false and misleading, but also mischievous and capable of causing unwarranted tension in the state.

Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO) For: Commissioner of Police, Edo State Command said the Commissioner of Police is assuring the good people of Edo State of the Command’s commitment to maintaining law and order, and ensuring the safety and security of all its inhabitants.
Therefore, the public are by this statement advised to remain calm and vigilant, and to report any suspicious activities to the police, while warning mischief makers to desist from spreading unfounded rumors or face the wrath of the law.
