Obidient groups notify Security chiefs, INEC of security breaches in Edo

Edo State Map

The Patriotic Coalition, comprising various Obidient groups and associations in Edo State, brings to the immediate attention of key stakeholders, including the Inspector General of Police, Director-General of the Department of State Services (DSS), military leadership, and Chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), critical developments pertaining to the forthcoming Edo State elections.

There are rising concerns about the potential misuse of security agencies to influence the electoral process in favor of certain interests. We call on all civil society organizations and international observers to focus on Edo State, ensuring the elections are conducted with integrity, free from any form of coercion or undue influence by state actors.

Edo State has a rich history of political consciousness and active participation. The people of Edo will not tolerate any attempts to undermine their right to a free and fair electoral process.

We therefore demand that the government allow an environment where democracy can thrive, and where the will of the people is respected without fear of harassment or coercion by government agencies.

Let this serve as a call to uphold the core principles of justice, fairness, and transparency in the upcoming elections.

Signed:
Comrade Ikhuenbor Felix Igbinevbo,
Convener, Patriotic Coalition for Asue and Ogie.
