Global Times recognizes Maikaya’s leadership and humanitarian work
The management of Global Times Nigeria Media outlet were in Toto local government area of Nasarawa State on Sunday to recognize Dr. Musa Muhammed Maikaya (Ciroman Toto) for his immense contributions to the development of his immediate community and the state at large through his Maikaya Development Foundation, a Non-Governmental Organisation (NGO).
Leading the delegation, the Chief Executive Officer of the Global Times Nigeria, Yahaya Idris Toto stated that Dr. Musa Muhammed Maikaya is being honored for his numerous initiatives aimed at enhancing the standard of living, not only in Toto LG but also in Nasarawa State.
The Media Icon observed that Maikaya’s philanthropic efforts cover health, education, community development, and most notably empowerment.
He recalled how Maikaya Development Foundation provided scholarship grants to vulnerable students and enrolled 750 women in the National Health Insurance Scheme, donated a motorised borehole and trained young people in skills acquisition programmes amongst other initiatives.
Idris noted that Maikaya has long been a champion of youth empowerment, advocating for their political, economic, and social freedom, a commitment that led him to run for Governor of Nasarawa State in 2019, though he was ultimately unsuccessful against incumbent Governor Abduallahi Sule.
He congratulated Maikaya on achieving Global Times Nigeria recognition and encouraged him to maintain the momentum, as he advised others to follow Maikaya’s kind example.
The Kogi State Chairman of the National Youth Council of Nigeria (NYCN), Comrade Benjamin Jeremiah Ojodale, congratulated Dr. Musa Muhammed Maikaya on his generosity and notable achievements in supporting his people via the Maikaya Development Foundation.
Ojodale, speaking during the Global Times Nigeria humanitarian award presentation to Maikaya, emphasized that promoting individuals who utilize their wealth and connections to improve the lives of their people is entirely justifiable, noting that a time for reward will inevitably arise.
The Igala-born Kogi youthful activist deemed the award well-deserved in light of Maikaya’s tireless support for youths and his notable influence on education, healthcare, and community development among other areas.
Responding, Dr. Musa Muhammed Maikaya appreciated the Global Times Nigeria Media outlet for finding him worthy of the award. He mentioned that his philanthropic gesture was designed to change the narrative and enhance government efforts at all levels.
He noted that he was overjoyed to witness Global Times Nigeria growing into a Global Reporting Media outlet and committed to providing his ongoing support.
Maikaya, a one-time governorship aspirant, Chief Executive Officer and founder of the Maikaya Development Foundation, highlighted that his Non Governmental Organisation (NGO) will persist in touching lives within and outside Nasarawa State.
The most memorable moment of the event was the presentation of the Humanitarian Award by Global Times Nigeria, which was held at the Maikaya residence.
