Nasarawa council chair. Damagani vows more development in 2026 New Year message

The Chairman of Keffi Local Government Area in Nasarawa State, Hon Idris Ahmad Damagani. has wished residents a prosperous 2026 and pledged continued focus on peace, economic growth and development projects.

Hon Idris Ahmad Damagani told journalists in a New Year interview that his administration’s vision was “to create an enabling environment for the people of Keffi to prosper”.

He stressed the need for unity across ethnic and religious lines, saying: “We plan to make the environment conducive… so that there would be peaceful coexistence regardless of tribes and religion. We also want to provide an enabling environment where people’s businesses and other economic activities will thrive.”

Mr Damagani said the 2026 budget already approved, prioritised education, alongside infrastructure and healthcare improvements.

Among ongoing projects, he cited the construction of a 1km road launched in November 2025 to mark his first year in office, as well as the fencing and renovation of Angwan Lambu Primary Health Care Clinic.

The council has secured ownership of the clinic’s land via Nasarawa State’s Owners Occupiers scheme, he added, vowing to complete these works by mid-year.

Mr Damagani praised the state governor, Engr Abdullahi A Sule, for efforts to maintain peace, and urged residents to back his administration for further progress.
