NASARAWA SPEAKER HOSTS 13 LG SPEAKERS, URGES ABSOLUTE LOYALTY TO GOV SULE, APC, WARNS AGAINST BACKING ANY GOVERNORSHIP ASPIRANT
Rt. Hon. Danladi Jatau, Ph.D, Speaker of the Nasarawa State House of Assembly, has passionately called on members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) across the state to demonstrate absolute loyalty and unwavering support to Governor Abdullahi Sule and the party leadership, particularly in the crucial decision on who emerges as the party’s governorship flag bearer ahead of the 2027 general elections.
Speaking during a high-profile reception at the Assembly complex for the Nasarawa State Forum of Local Government Speakers representing the 13 Local Government Areas, the state’s number three citizen commended Governor Sule’s unyielding passion for peace, unity, and development, urging all party faithful to rally behind him without reservation.
He emphasized that such loyalty is sacrosanct for fostering unity and a common understanding as the state builds momentum towards the polls, declaring unequivocally that the governor’s decision on the flag bearer represents a collective one, and that APC members must remain patient, visibly loyal to both the government and the party, while resisting any temptation to endorse individual governorship aspirants at this juncture.
The Speaker, who doubles as a beacon of purposeful leadership in the Seventh Assembly, further advised the forum of LG Speakers to mirror the harmonious synergy between the State Assembly and its executive arm by working closely with their respective local executives to promote peace, unity, and progress not just in their domains but across Nasarawa State at large.
He charged them to diligently execute their oversight functions as vigilant watchdogs of local administration, ensuring that every kobo appropriated in the annual budgets is utilized judiciously for the service of humanity and the overall development of the state, thereby maximizing impact at the grassroots level.
Earlier in the engaging session, Hon. Muhammad Shuaibu Madaki, Chairman of the forum and Speaker of Lafia Local Government Council, had hailed Dr. Jatau as the best Speaker Nasarawa State has ever produced, a testament to his commitment and outstanding performance; the forum promptly passed a resounding vote of confidence on him for his exemplary piloting of the Assembly’s affairs.
In a related development that underscored the Speaker’s rising political stature, Rt. Hon. Jatau also hosted the Nasarawa State Chapter of the Power Bike Riders Association of Nigeria, where he reiterated that politics, at its core, is about selfless service to the people, while graciously accepting their request and clarion calls from various groups in Keffi, Karu, and Kokona Federal Constituency to contest for the House of Representatives seat in the 2027 elections.
Attributing true leadership to divine providence, he encouraged the association to work tirelessly towards his emergence, expressing profound gratitude for the “Outstanding Leadership and Unwavering Support for Community Development and Selfless Service” award they bestowed upon him, and pledging to sustain the tempo of his contributions.
The association’s President, Maiwada Sidi, led the delegation to congratulate the Speaker on his recent elevation as Deputy National Chairman of the APC Speakers Forum, North Central, praising his grassroots-oriented leadership style and committing to robust collaboration in his political journey beyond 2027, before formally presenting the prestigious award.
