2027: Elempe Endorses Hon. Bankole-Balogun for House of Reps

As the political firmament gathers momentum ahead of the 2027 general elections, a significant endorsement has emerged from Edo State, with Comrade Elempe Dele, a seasoned journalist and convener of the Akoko-Edo Grassroot Initiative (AGI), a political movement dedicated to rallying support for competent aspirants in Akoko-Edo, throwing his weight behind Hon. Oladele Bankole-Balogun Esq. for the House of Representatives seat representing the Akoko-Edo Federal Constituency under the All Progressives Congress (APC) primary.
In a statement made available to some selected journalists in Benin City, the capital of Edo State, Elempe disclosed his decision, emphasizing his professional ties and long-standing friendship with the aspirant, who previously served as Chairman of the Edo State Internal Revenue Service (EIRS).

“As part of my immediate professional constituents, it is imperative I reveal to you who I am supporting in my Local Government Area to run as Member of the House of Representatives.
The individual is no other than Hon. Oladele Bankole-Balogun Esq., the former Chairman Edo State Internal Revenue Service, EIRS.
This decision came after I reflected on our long-standing friendship as brothers in and out of politics. I was more motivated after he consulted with me privately his decision to resign from the exalted office where he achieved the collection of revenue on behalf of the state which exceeded N100 billion, as well as the feat of implementing several digital reforms,” Elempe stated.
He further revealed that campaigns for the APC primary have commenced, with his AGI movement actively engaging in grassroots consultations with party leaders, elders, members, stakeholders, and opinion moulders to secure the backing needed for Bankole-Balogun’s success.

“The goal is a focused attention towards service. Akoko-Edo must benefit from opportunities from the Federal Government. Bankole-Balogun does not need extra persuasion to facilitate infrastructural development, youth empowerment, job creation, agricultural intervention, quality education and healthcare services.
He knows what the LGA needs as he has visited all the over 50 communities that make up the LGA,” Elempe affirmed, adding that he would periodically update fellow journalists on political developments in Akoko-Edo, assuring them that this endorsement represents the best choice for the area’s people.
Elempe called on all well-meaning APC members in the LGA to join hands in supporting Bankole-Balogun to clinch the party’s ticket, underscoring the collective responsibility to propel a candidate capable of delivering dividends of democracy to the constituency.
