NUC accredits 27 graduate, post Graduate programs at PAAU Anyigba

The National Universities Commission (NUC), has granted full accreditation to five (5) postgraduate and 22 undergraduate programmes across Faculties and Colleges of Prince Abubakar Audu University, (PAAU), Anyigba.

A statement signed by the Public Relations Officer of the Institution, Uredo Omale, said the Vice-Chancellor, Professor Salisu Ogbo Usman,disclosed that the University secured full accreditation for some of the undergraduate programmes in the Faculties of Agriculture, Arts and Humanities, Computing, Law, Management Sciences, Natural Sciences, Social Sciences and College of Health Sciences.

According to the statement , the NUC also gave full accreditation to all Postgraduate programmes in the Faculty of Management Sciences

Prof Usman described the outcome of the accreditation exercise as a reflection of the steady growth of the institution and commitment to academic excellence and quality assurance.

“The NUC report signed by the Executive Secretary, Professor Abdullahi Yusuf Ribadu, indicates undergraduate programmes in Accounting, Business Administration, and Public Administration, all in the Faculty of Management Sciences, got Full Accreditation.

“Postgraduate programmes such as M.Sc. Accounting, Banking and Finance, Management, and Public Administration, as well as MPA Public Administration, were also granted full accreditation status , while in the Faculty of Agriculture, Fisheries and Aquaculture also received Full Accreditation status,” the Vice Chancellor stated.

Similarly, Medical Laboratory Science, Nursing Science, and Pharmacology which are in the College of Health Sciences, got full aqccredited

Others including the Faculty of Arts and Humanities, Computer Sciences , Law, and Religious studies equally recorded impressive outcomes.

The Faculty of Natural Sciences saw Botany, Industrial Chemistry, Mathematics, Statistics, and Zoology all attaining Full Accreditation.

In the same vein, Social Sciences programmes such as Economics and Sociology were fully accredited.

The Vice-Chancellor, Professor Usman, expressed profound appreciation to the Governor of Kogi State, Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo, for his unwavering support in providing the necessary resources and enabling environment that made the achievement possible.

He noted that the government’s investment in education continues to yield tangible results.

Professor Usman also paid glowing tributes to the immediate past Vice-Chancellor, Professor Marietu Ohunene Tenuche, under whose leadership the accreditation exercise was conducted, described her role as pivotal, citing foresight, strategic planning, and resourcefulness as critical factors that laid the foundation for the success now being celebrated.

Professor Usman stressed that giving credit to whom it is due is part of the endearing culture of academic integrity, noted that institutional achievements are often the product of collective and continuous efforts.

He pledged that the leadership of the University is poised to build on current Accreditation status and take the institution to the next level of global preeminence.

Prof Usman recalled that a similar feat was achieved during his tenure as Rector of Kogi State Polytechnic, Lokoja, where multiple programmes also secured full accreditation, underscoring his firm commitment to academic excellence and quality assurance.

The Vice-Chancellor assured stakeholders that the University would not rest on its laurels, but would continue to consolidate on the gains, improve on areas with interim status, and sustain high standards in teaching, research, and community service.
