Kogi East Senate: Erico Tours Nine LGAs, Seeks APC Support Ahead of Primaries

An All Progressives Congress (APC) chieftain and Kogi East senatorial aspirant, Chief Dr. Joseph Ameh Erico, has embarked on a wide-ranging consultation tour across the nine local government areas of the district, engaging stakeholders and seeking support ahead of the party’s primaries.
During the tour, Erico met with community leaders, party faithful, and traditional rulers to formally declare his intention to contest for the Kogi East Senatorial seat in the 2027 general elections.
The security expert outlined his vision of innovative leadership, purposeful governance, and quality representation, assuring constituents that no part of the district would be left behind if elected.
The consultation tour commenced in Dekina Local Government Area and moved through various constituencies, with a grand finale held in Ankpa Federal Constituency, marking the culmination of his engagements across Kogi East.
As part of his outreach, Erico paid homage to prominent traditional rulers, including His Royal Highness, Dr. Abubakar Sadiq Ahmed Yakubu II, the Ejeh of Ankpa and Chairman of the Ankpa Traditional Council.
He also visited other revered royal fathers across the senatorial district to seek blessings and present his development agenda.
Earlier in the tour, the aspirant visited the Ojogba of Ife Palace in Abejukolo, Omala Local Government Area, alongside stops in other communities within the district.
In his remarks, the Ejeh of Ankpa described Erico as a worthy son of the soil, commending his leadership qualities and commitment to community development.
The royal father offered prayers for his success and urged him to remain focused on people-oriented service.
The visits attracted large crowds of supporters and well-wishers who accompanied the aspirant throughout the tour, expressing confidence in his candidacy.
Grand Finale at Ankpa Township Stadium:
The tour climaxed at the Ankpa Township Stadium, where Chief Dr. Erico formally declared his intention to contest the Kogi East senatorial seat before a large and enthusiastic crowd.
Dignitaries at the event included the APC Zonal Chairman, the Chairman of Ankpa Local Government Area, Senior Special Assistants, ward councillors, party stakeholders, and supporters from across the constituency.
Addressing the gathering, Chief Erico expressed gratitude for the overwhelming support received during the tour, pledging effective representation, accelerated development, and inclusive leadership that would give Kogi East a strong voice in the Senate.
The Erico Campaign Organisation also extended appreciation to traditional rulers, political stakeholders, and residents of the district for the warm reception accorded to the aspirant throughout his consultation tour.
