2027: FCT Council Chairmen buys senate forms for Aduda

The Chairmen of AMAC, Kwali, Bwari including the re elected Chairman of Kuje Area Council of the FCT, Hon Samuel Danjuma Shekwolo, has purchased N20 million senate nomination/expression of interest forms for the minority leader of the nineth senate, Senator Philip Aduda to contest for FCT senate for 2027 general election on the platform of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).

Our correspondent report that, the AMAC chairman Hon Christopher Zakka Maikalangu alongside his colleagues handed over the N20 million senate nomination/expression of interest forms to Aduda at his Wuse II office Abuja, on Wednesday.

The AMAC chairman, Hon Christopher Zakka Maikalangu, alongside his colleagues, while handing over the forms to Aduda, said the council chairmen collectively decided to purchase the senate forms for Aduda because of his pedigree and immense contribution towards the development of the people of the FCT.

He said the achievements of Aduda during his reign at the national assembly has surpassed that of his predecessors, saying Aduda’s foot prints, especially in the area of infrastructure, scholarships, women/youth empowerment, good legislation and among others has remain a legacy in the territory.

“Yes, we the area council chairmen collectively raised N20 million to purchase nomination/expression of interest forms for our able Senator Philip Aduda, to contest for FCT senate in 2027 because of his pedigree and good legislation as well as his achievements which no any senator in history of FCT can match with what he has done for the good of the FCT,”he said.

Responding, Senator Philip Aduda, thanked the council chairmen for purchasing the nomination/expression of interest forms for him to contest for FCT senate in 2027 general election.

He also appreciated the stakeholders and people of the territory for their continuous support they have been given him over the years to attain to the current position.

“And it is indeed gratifying to say that I am indeed very honored seeing the calibre of people here, seeing all of you here. I want to say to God be the glory,”he said.

Aduda, however, said that going back to the senate is a familiar terrain, saying he had canvassed for various issues as it relates to the plights of the people of the FCT.

He said he had brought to the front burner issues that affect the people of the territory, saying from 2003 apart from when he was a councillor, he has canvassed issues for the betterment and promotion of the FCT through constitutional amendment and had at some point succeeded at the senate.

“But one thing that is for sure was that, the issue of the FCT was at the front burner of discuss in the federal republic of Nigeria bringing to the limelight the issues as it affect the people of the FCT,”he said.

“And today, I want to say that we indeed thank President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for granting us our heart desires and for ensuring that today, we have a cabinet minister from the FCT at the federal executive council,”he added.

Aduda, pledged to deliver to 100 percent vote for the re election of President Bola Ahmed in 2027 presidential election in the FCT.

Our reporter also report that, the incumbent chairmen of Kwali Area Council Hon Danladi Chiya and his Bwari counterpart Hon John Gabaya also purchased N10 million nomination/expression of interest forms to contest for the House of representative seats for Abuja south and Abuja north federal constituencies in 2027 general election respectively.
