The Acting State Chairman of the Social Democratic Party (SDP) in Gombe State, Muhammad Kumo, has received a group of prominent defectors from the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Dukku Local Government Area.

According to statement dated Wednesday, April 7, 2026 by Acting State Publicity Secretary of the party, the reception took place at the party’s state secretariat in Gombe, where the new members were formally welcomed into the SDP fold.

Among the defectors are Malam Umaru Gurama, a retired Permanent Secretary, Barrister Shittu Adama Umar, and Barrister Jamila Umar Gurama.
