The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ethiope Federal Constituency has renewed its commitment to unity, reconciliation, and grassroots mobilisation as key drivers of electoral success ahead of the 2027 general elections, following an expanded strategic meeting of the Ethiope Federal Constituency Political Forum held in Asaba.

The meeting, which took place at the residence of the Chief Adviser to the Delta State Governor, Chief Ighoyota Amori, brought together party leaders, stakeholders, elected representatives, and political appointees from across Ethiope East and Ethiope West Local Government Areas in a renewed effort to consolidate political alignment within the constituency.

A major highlight of the gathering was the first formal attendance of the member representing Ethiope Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, Rt. Hon. Erhiatake Ibori-Suenu, since the inception of the forum three years ago. Stakeholders described her presence as a significant milestone in the ongoing reconciliation and consolidation process within the APC structure in the constituency.

The meeting also reflected growing political harmony among key stakeholders in Delta State, following reconciliation efforts involving former Governor Chief James Ibori and other political actors, alongside sustained engagements credited to Governor Sheriff Oborevwori. Participants noted that these developments have strengthened stability and improved cooperation across party lines.

Deliberations centred on the need to deepen internal cohesion, strengthen grassroots mobilisation, and consolidate support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Governor Sheriff Oborevwori, Senator Ede Dafinone, Rt. Hon. Erhiatake Ibori-Suenu, and other APC candidates ahead of the 2027 general elections.

Speakers at the meeting highlighted key governance milestones under President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, particularly ongoing economic stabilisation efforts, fiscal reforms, and infrastructure prioritisation aimed at long-term national growth.

Similarly, Governor Sheriff Oborevwori was commended for what stakeholders described as a “calm, inclusive, and development-focused leadership style” that has enhanced peace and improved governance delivery in Delta State.

In his opening remarks, the National Chairman of the Ethiope Federal Constituency Political Forum and Chief Adviser to the Governor, Senator (Chief) Ighoyota Amori, described the gathering as a strong expression of unity and renewed political direction.

He said: “What we are building here is not just political alignment, but a united front capable of delivering victory. Unity remains our strongest strategy going into 2027.”

The Ethiope East APC leader, Chief Bernard Edewor, described the meeting as a defining moment for the party, noting that the level of participation reflected renewed confidence in the APC structure across the constituency.

Edewor stated: “This is a stronger and more coordinated APC family. With this level of unity, we are firmly on course for electoral success.”

The National Secretary of the Forum and State Director of Protocol, Chief Sunday Onoriode, emphasized the importance of grassroots mobilisation, urging leaders to translate the renewed unity into effective engagement at ward and polling unit levels.

He said: “Our real strength lies at the grassroots. Every unit must be active, every ward must be mobilised, and every leader must carry this message of unity to the people.”

Former member of the House of Representatives, Rt. Hon. Halims Agoda, called for sustained reconciliation and political discipline, stressing that the current unity drive must be deepened to secure lasting stability and electoral advantage.

He noted that continuous engagement among stakeholders would further strengthen the party’s chances across all levels of elections.

In her remarks, Rt. Hon. Erhiatake Ibori-Suenu expressed appreciation to party leaders for the renewed spirit of cooperation and political maturity within the constituency.

She commended Governor Sheriff Oborevwori for his role in fostering reconciliation and political harmony, noting that inclusive leadership remains central to sustained stability and progress.

She reaffirmed her commitment to working with all stakeholders to strengthen the party structure and ensure victory for APC candidates in the 2027 general elections.

Other leaders at the meeting also reiterated the need for sustained unity, coordinated mobilisation, and disciplined political engagement across all levels of the party structure.

The meeting ended on a consensus note, with stakeholders reaffirming their collective resolve to consolidate support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Governor Sheriff Oborevwori, Senator Ede Dafinone, Rt. Hon. Erhiatake Ibori-Suenu, Rt. Hon. Arthur Akpowowo, Hon. Vincent Awosu, and other APC candidates ahead of the 2027 general elections.
