The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has described the death of its National Vice Chairman, South South, Chief Dr. Dan Orbih, as a major loss to the party and Nigeria’s democratic journey.
Orbih reportedly died in London after a brief illness.
In a condolence message issued on Tuesday, the PDP said the late national vice chairman was a loyal and committed member who devoted himself to the ideals of democracy and the advancement of the party.
The party noted that Orbih’s wisdom, dedication and contributions played an important role in the growth and stability of the PDP.
According to the party, his legacy of service and commitment would remain fondly remembered by members and supporters.
The PDP extended its condolences to the deceased’s immediate family, relatives, friends and associates.
It also commiserated with the FCT Minister, Barrister Nyesom Wike, describing Orbih as Wike’s close confidant, trusted associate and friend.
The party said it would continue to stand with the bereaved family and others affected by the loss.

As part of its mourning arrangements, the PDP National Working Committee directed all party offices to fly the party’s flag at half-mast for three days.
The party prayed that Almighty God would grant the bereaved family the strength and fortitude to bear the painful loss.
