Workers in Dekina Local Government Area have thrown their weight behind Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo, declaring that the administration’s record on workers’ welfare makes continuity necessary.
The position was made known during the Kogi State Government’s ongoing Workplace Security, Workers’ Welfare and Sustainability Campaign.
The programme was led by the Special Adviser to the Governor on Labour Matters, Comrade Onuh Edoka.
The workers came out in large numbers to receive the delegation, with many dressed in labour union uniforms and traditional attire.
The Chairman of Dekina LGA said workers had assessed the performance of the Ododo administration and were satisfied with what he described as its attention to workers’ welfare.
He said there was no need for another campaign because the impact of the government was already visible.
The NUT Chairman in the local government said the gains recorded needed to be protected through continuity.
Comrade Tom Abutu, former State President of NULGE, described the engagement as an opportunity to consolidate the progress made under the current administration.
Edoka told workers that protecting their jobs required not only workplace safety but also political choices that would sustain favourable policies.

He called for support for Governor Ododo and President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
The workers responded by pledging to mobilise for the APC in 2027, insisting that Dekina had already made its choice.
