He also accepted his appointment as a patron of Kokori Women in Politics, pledging to contribute to the group’s progress and the development of Kokori community and the wider Agbon Kingdom.

Oghenesivbe speaks on 2027 elections

The Bureau DG urged the group to deepen its political engagement and community outreach ahead of the 2027 general elections.

He encouraged members to mobilise support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Delta State Governor Sheriff Oborevwori and other All Progressives Congress (APC) candidates, saying the relationship between the President and the Governor could create opportunities for cooperation between the Federal Government and Delta State.

Oghenesivbe described the relationship between Tinubu and Oborevwori as that of a father and son, expressing the view that the state could benefit from stronger cooperation between both administrations.

On the economy, he acknowledged that the Federal Government’s reforms, particularly the removal of the petrol subsidy, had imposed considerable hardship on Nigerians.

However, he expressed optimism that the economy would gradually recover, urging the women to communicate the administration’s economic recovery expectations to residents of Kokori and other communities across Agbon Kingdom.

He further commended the group for promoting women’s participation in politics and encouraging grassroots involvement in community affairs.

KIP explains Oghenesivbe’s appointment

Earlier, the President of Kokori Women in Politics, Chief Mrs Florence Oki, announced Oghenesivbe’s appointment as one of the group’s patrons.

Oki explained that the decision was unanimously approved at the organisation’s general meeting in September, adding that the executive members had visited him to formally communicate the appointment ahead of the group’s forthcoming inauguration and the investiture of its patrons.

She said the date for the ceremony would be announced in due course.

The KIP president described Oghenesivbe as an illustrious son of Agbon Kingdom whose contributions to community development and economic transformation had remained consistent over the years.

According to her, the Bureau DG had facilitated infrastructure projects in Kokori and provided financial assistance to youths and women without seeking publicity for his interventions.

Oki also praised his public service record and commitment to the community, describing him as a visionary leader and a loyal party member.
