Abuja indigenous students lauds Aduda on infrastructure, education

The leadership of the Abuja Indigenous Students’ Association (AISA) has commended the former minority leader of the 9th assembly, Senator Philip Aduda, for his efforts in the area of rural infrastructures across the 62 political wards and education sector in the FCT.

A statement jointly signed by the national president of AISA, Comrade Muhammad Nasir Abaji and Public Relation Officer (PRO) Comrade Ezral Shagi Auta, made the commendation during presentation of an award of excellence to Senator Aduda at his private office in Abuja, on Wednesday.

He said the indigenous students union executives decided to honor the immediate past FCT Senator for his efforts towards embarking on numerous viable rural infrastructures, which he said has direct bearing on the lives of the people of the FCT.

He also said senate under Senator Aduda, had direct bearing on the Abuja indigenous students, through disbursement of bursary annually to students learning at various territory institutions across the country.

According to him, Senator Aduda who represented FCT had passed some impactful bills, which he said included
a bill for the establishment of College of Education (COE) Zuba, FCT School of nursing Gwagwalada, FCT Polytechnic, Orozo, establishment of Abuja University of Science & Technology Abaji.

“And besides, the Abuja indigenous students are still quite aware of some proposed bills by Senator Aduda for the establishment FCT college of Agric Rubochi and FCT College of Health Technology Kwali,” he added.

He said it was on the premise that, the indigenous students alongside some of its board of trustees members decided to honor senator Aduda, saying the former senator’s achievements has surpassed that of his predecessors in history of senator’s that represented FCT.

He, therefore, described Senator Aduda as an icon of educational transformer in the FCT.

In his response, Senator Aduda, appreciated the AISA leadership for their visit and finding him worthy for conferring of excellence such award on him.

He said such award will spur him to do more despite he is out of the senate so that the good people of the FCT especially students will pursue their education carrier.

According to him, education is key and a veritable tool to the development of any nation, even as he acknowledged their commitments and efforts towards the completion of the AISA secretariat project in Abuja.
