Again, Engr. Bashir Gegu Receives Meritorious Award In Gegu Beki

Kogi State Commissioner of Solid Minerals and Natural Resources, Engr. Abubakar Mohammed Gegu, has received a Meritorious Award.
The Ohinoyi Nyiwo/Gegu-Beki Development Association (GEBDA), conferred the Award on him during the celebration of the Two Years Anniversary of the Ohinoyi Nyiwo of Gegu-Beki Chiefdom, Alhaji Mohammed Abba Alhassan.
The Meritorious Award was in recognition of his vibrant and effective disposition for the development of his Local Government, Community and Constituency; through the provision of educational and health institutions and upgrading of the welfare of traditional institution.
Speaking with Newsmen, an elated Engr. Bashir Gegu, described the honour done him as a call to more service.
He said being a son of the soil, all services rendered to the people of Gegu-Beki was a privilege, stressing that the Meritorious Award will spur him to up his game.
“I never knew that the little we are doing can be recognized in this magnitude, this Award is simply a call to do more because to whom much is given, much more is expected in return”
Engr. Bashir Gegu pointed out that the feat achieved so far that called for the recognition through an Award was traceable to the Governor Yahaya Bello New Direction administration that has accorded the required attention to the people at the grassroots, stressing that more attention would be given to them.
He said Governor Bello, through his magnanimity has done a lot for the people of the Area, calling on them to continue to support the Governor’s quest for more dividends of democracy.
The Commissioner appreciated the Ohinoyi Nyiwo of Gegu-Beki for finding him worthy of the Meritorious Award, pledging his unflinching commitment towards ensuring the progress of the Community.
He described the traditional ruler as a prudent man with vision of taking the Community to greater heights, urging him to continue in his good works.
Engr. Bashir Gegu also called on the people of the Community to continue to coexist peacefully as such will go a long way at bringing about rapid development.
In his usual manner, the State Commissioner of Solid Minerals and Natural Resources donated handsomely to support the planned projects of Gegu Beki Development Association (GEBDA), aimed at making life better for the people of the Area.
