On Tuesday, 4th December 2022, traditional rulers in Akoko-Edo has refuted a report by an online medium where it alleged to have endorsed Hon Peter Akpatason for a fourth-term mandate for Akoko-Edo Federal Constituency.
The Olokpe of Okope, Imah of Somorika, and the Olojah of Ojah in their separate reactions to the publication vehemently denied such claimed and described such reports as most evil and greedy.
Anger by such a desperate move, the monarchs also rains curses on the publisher of such evil report.
According to Elijah of Ojah, “we were holding security meeting when the said man Akpatason coincidentally came to the venue and we were offered Xmas gifts which include, rice, beans, oil and 500k cash gift in the spirit of Xmas and we indeed offered him prayers, but for him or anyone to smear my character or the character of my fellow monarchs in the name of 4th term mandate, is laughable because no one can cause disunity in Akoko-Edo in the name of politics. Our mutual agreement must be respected this time.”, the Monarch said.
Also denying the publication, the Olokpe of Okpe uses his ancestors to reign curses on anyone who is behind the publication of such satanic report, describing it as the figment of the imagination of those behind the false publication and their accomplices, as he did not and cannot make such spurious claim as against the mutual agreement of the revered traditional rulers.
The Otaru of Igarra strenuously denied the endorsement of Akpatason for another term, that he was surprised that a report emanated from Akpatason claiming that Akoko-Edo Monarchs endorsed him, Akpatason for 4th term to do what? He asked disdainfully, but we, the monarchs are waiting to see if the story will be retracted or not before we take full action against those behind the act, Otaru said.
It is ludicrous for anyone to suggest that Akoko-Edo Monarchs can be cowed into supporting Akpatason for another term mandate at the national assembly as against Akoko-Edo mutual agreement.

Global Times Nigeria report that there was a follow-up report later published by another media platform after the first report by one Triple Ojey InfoBoard, alleging that Akoko-Edo Monarchs endorses Hon Peter Akpatason for another term.
Speaking further, the monarchs said the claim was being bandied around to smear them and blackmail them into submission. That endorsement is not true and can never be true. The publication was sponsored to smear us and blackmail us into compromising our stand after initial dismissive laughter.
They have been reaching out to us and sending emissaries to beg us to change our position on the matter of our mutual agreement, but this time, the agreement is agreement. The monarchs resolved.
