Kogi women are smiling home following the intervention of Engineer Mohammed Abubakar Bashir Gegu who saw the needs to give back to the society in order to reduced hardship being facein view of current economic situation in the country.

On Sunday, Kogi State Commissioner for Solid Mineral and Natural Resources, Engineer Mohammed Abubakar Bashir Gegu has continued with his empowerment support program targeted at women as part of concerted effort to improve the wellbeing of his people.

Mr. Bashir Gegu had empowered 110 women with 20k each totally two million, two hundreds naira only (2,200) from eleven (11) units of the Gegu South electoral ward, Kogi Local Government Area.

Apart from 2.2 million naira, Engineer Bashir Gegu has also made available fund for 27 APC ward executives, a development he promised to continue on monthly.

Global Times Nigeria had reported that a similar program held at Koton-karfe, the LG headquarters where 500,000 naira was shared to 25 women to support their petty businesses in the area.

The Commissioner said the empowerment program will go along way in cushioning the effect of pain occasion by fuel subsidy removal by Federal Government of Nigeria, even as he vowed to do his best providing leadership as instructed by the Executive Governor of Kogi State, Alhaji Yahaya Bello.

Speaking after the empowerment program, Mr. Gegu expressed gratitude to Governor Yahaya Bello for providing him with a platform to contribute his quota to the development of his host LG and State at large.

He described his intervention as a GYB Cash Transfer mainly support most vulnerable women and youths in the area.

The Kogi Solid Minerals Commissioner commended the people of Kogi LG for their sincere support and solidarity to of All Progressives Congress, APC, led administration in the state.

Gegu, a former governorship aspirant said it has been good news ever since his part cross with the Governor, saying that he has made Kogi LG his second by initiative numerous programs and policies.

“I’m one of the happiest human being on earth witnessing a transformation of my people as being push my by our leader and Governor of Kogi State.”

“The people of Kogi LG are happy and more comfortable in APC, some people are moving around lying that our people have detected to their non-existent parties, but today occasion have proved them wrong with the hordes of APC stalwarts who came out in solidarity to show their support.”

Speaking earlier, some women beneficiaries assured the Commissioner of their continued support to Gov Bello, APC and it’s candidate for November 11, election, Alhaji Usman Ahmed Ododo.

Highpoint of event, launching of GYB Cash Transfer to 110 women from the Commissioner’s ancestral electoral ward.

In a related development, Engineer Bashir Gegu had a robust meeting with APC ward Executives where he appreciated them for the support given him and the Governor.

In his usual magnanimity, the Commissioner gave the ward executives fund for maintenance with a promised to make it a monthly stipend till he bow out of the government.
