BIG Berate Bwari Chairman For Non Payment Of Teacher’s Wages

A group under the aegis Bwari Integrity Group (BIG) has expressed deep concern over nonchalant attitude of the Bwari Area council Chairman, Hon. John S. Gabaya towards payment of teacher’s wages for June 2021.

A press statement issue on Wednesday by the group Chairman, Khalid Yakubu and made available to Global Times Nigeria, expressed total dismay over the non payment of teacher’s salary for the month of June 2021.

Recalled, the Nigeria Union of Teacher, Bwari Area Council had earlier condemned the John Gabaya led council administration and LEA management for denying the teacher’s of their rightful wages, a situation that put so many teacher’s into hardship.

BIG condemns the nasty action of the PDP government in Bwari Area Council for the non payment of teacher’s salaries as at when due.

According to them, the nonchalant attitude of the Council Chairman towards the welfare of teachers have caused teachers to embark on strike and forced our children to remain at home at a time when they should be writing their exams.

“It is unfortunate that teachers are the worst victims of the bad leadership in Bwari Area Council today, as the Council Chairman is notorious for withholding teacher’s salaries and other entitlements leading to countless strikes in just two years of his administration, but come February 12th, 2022, the bad leadership we have in Bwari Area Council today, we shall see no more”. The group told newsmen.

The statement further call on the Council Chairman to immediately release funds meant for payment of teacher’s salaries so that their children can go back to school to finish their examinations.
