FCT Polls: APC Chairman Meets Party’s Chairmanship Candidates, Set For Official Campaign Flag -Off
The Chairman of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Alhaji Abdulmalik Usman, on Tuesday, met behind closed doors with the six area councils chairmanship candidates of the party at the APC state secretariat in Abuja.
Addressing newsmen after four hours closed doors meeting, which had APC state secretary, Hashimu Saidu Angama, chairmen of Abaji and Abuja Municipal Area Council (AMAC) Alhaji Abdulrahman Ajiya and Alhaji Abdullahi Adamu Candido, in attendance, the state chairman said the meeting was conveyed to a deliberate arrangement of the official flag-off election campaign across the six area councils.
He said though, the chairmanship and councilors electioneering has since commenced across the six area councils, but the state secretariat of the party was yet to officially flag- off the campaign, which he said both the FCT Minister, Muhammad Musa Bello and the state FCT Minister, Hajiya Ramatu Tijjani Aliyu, were expected to officially hand over the party’s flag to each of the chairmanship candidates.

“The party invited the chairmanship candidates of the six area councils that were in attendance, except that of Kwali area council, who was not in attendance as he had before now informed the party that he will not be in attendance as he is having some issues in his area that needs urgent attention,” he said.
He added” and we were able to deliberate extensively on how we will embark on a tour of the six area councils as well as official presentation of the party’s flags to all the APC chairmanship candidates by both FCT minister and minister of state,” he said.

The APC chairman, however, expressed confidence that APC shall emerge victorious during the February 12, 2022 chairmanship and councilors elections across the six area councils.
He, therefore, called on APC members and supporters to continue to remain law-abiding by constituted authorities before, during, and after the election.
