Guber poll: Thousands of Kogi electorate storms INEC headquarters Abuja to show overwhelming support to APC’s Ododo victory
……Commends INEC, Security, other stakeholders for ensuring peaceful, transparent election.

The overwhelming support shown by the Kogi populace at the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, headquarters Abuja office is a clear demonstration of their belief in the new governor elect victory, Ahmed Usman Ododo.
Global Times Nigeria reports that the citizens who actively participated in the democratic process and expressing their support for their chosen leader were in Abuja to defend their mandate and as well commend INEC for a thorough job.
This level of engagement highlights the importance of transparency and the need for a fair and impartial electoral system. It is crucial that INEC and other relevant authorities ensure that the will of the people is respected and that the election process is conducted in a transparent and credible manner.
Speaking at the occasion, the Kogi Local Government Director General for Ahmed Usman Ododo and Joel Salifu Oyibo 2023, Alhaji Muhammed Shuaibu Asio said the good people of Kogi State voted massively for the candidate of All Progressives Congress, APC, Ahmed Usman Ododo and his running mate, Joel Salifu Oyibo who are now elected officials waiting for swearing in ceremony in January, 27th, 2024.
Alhaji Shuaibu Asio said the people of Kogi were united to vote for Kogi development agenda and which he said produced Ahmed Usman Ododo as brand new Governor elect of Kogi state.
The Kogi LG Director General campaign led thousands of Kogites to the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, headquarters Abuja in solidarity with Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo’s mandate freely given to him by Kogites in the just concluded November 11 election.
He thanked the both INEC and security agencies for ensuring the will of the people prevailed and described process as most peaceful, transparency and credible poll ever conducted in Kogi State.
Responding, the spokesperson and INEC representatives for said, he was happy with the way the group responded at the headquarter, stated that their functions is to ensure a credible election which he said was achieved.
It would be recalled that Ahmed Usman Ododo I’m the All Progressives Congress, APC, polled 446, 237 votes to defeat Murtala Yakubu Ajaka of the Social Democratic Party (SDP), who came second with 259,052 votes.
Dino Melaye, candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), scored 46,362 votes.
According Johnson Urama, the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) returning officer for Kogi, announced Ododo as the winner at 10:23 p.m. on Sunday.
Ododo, a former auditor general of local government in Kogi under Yahaya Bello, was anointed by the governor who is finishing his two-term of eight years.
