Following the growing insecurity in the country and the threat to the North Central zone, Nigeria Hunters Commission, (NHC) on Saturday, declared a total war against terrorists and criminals in the North Central zone of the country.

North Central Zonal Commander of the Nigeria Hunters Commission, Alhaji Abdulhakeem Ibrahim, told newsmen in Lokoja after a marathon meeting with hunters and vigilante groups that the volunteers have resolved to face the invading marauders headlong.

He disclosed that the volunteer’s group has resolved to set up ” Counter-Terrorism and crime outfits that will report to the appropriate authorities after operations.

He explained that the outfit has a village, district, local government, and state structures within the zone for coordinated and effective communications at all times given the surprises usually posed by the assailants.

The Zonal Commander also said interstate collaborations on surveillance of attackers and re-enforcement of men during eventuality have been agreed upon to net all escaping culprits and criminals across the states in the zone and the FCT.

As part of the resolution, each state is to provide not less than 200 hunters, vigilantes, and volunteers that will form the Zonal Command, while each local government is expected to send two intelligent personnel to the state command for effective administration and communication.

Alhaji Abdulhakeem Ibrahim also announced that the Command is set for training of the hunters and vigilantes to meet and surpass the efficacy of modern terrorism as introduced by the bandits, Boko Haram, ISWAP, and their local collaborators.

In his remarks, the State Commander of the Vigilantes and Hunters Commission, Mr. Monday Paul, commended Kogi state Governor, Alhaji Yahaya Bello, for all the efforts that have curbed insecurity in the state

Paul described Bello as a very active and security-sensitive governor, who has given all his ears to the challenges faced by the people he has entrusted to ensure that peace and tranquility reign

He however appealed to the Governor to provide special funds to security agencies especially the volunteers, who will soon be hosting the North Central Zonal Command of Hunters Commission and Volunteers.
