Prominent stakeholders and Niger Delta Council of Chiefs have declared their support and endorsement for Ministerial nomination of Nexim Bank Executive Director, Stella Okotete, warning those saboteurs to desist from wasting their time working against God’s chosen.

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu had named some Nigerians as Ministerial designates including Stelle Okotete from Delta State.

This was contained in a statement jointly singed and issued on 1st August 2023 by it’s National President Olorogun Mathias-Efe Olowu and National Secretary Obong (Sir) Unyime Ekwere KSJI, on behalf it’s members across the six Niger Delta States which includes, Delta, Edo, Bayelsa, Cross River and Akwa Ibom,  describing Stella Okotete as woman of courage for voiceless.

The statement reads in part, “We the undersigned Niger Delta Council of Chiefs membership in 6 states have deemed it necessary to support and endorse the nomination of the Nexim Bank Executive Director, and erstwhile acting National Woman Leader of All Progressives Congress, APC, Stella Okotete, as incoming Minister of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, from Delta State, by the grace of God.

“We have also carried out independent research and assessed the political ideology, track record, achievement and competence of Hon Stella Okotete, in her previous and present office and seen that she is the woman that can be trusted with leadership and is committed to bring the expected change and turn around things in the new administration of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

“We are endeared to her commitment demonstrated towards the welfare and well being of their people most especially the down trodden and forgotten.”

“We are assuring President Tinubu and Nigerians that Mrs Stella Okotete will deliver in her new office if finally confirmed by the Senate of the Federal Republic Nigeria.”

The council further explained that their support and endorsement for Mrs Stella Okotete were based on her records of performances and antecedent following her resolve to liberate the ordinary and most vulnerable people such as youths & women in particular from the shackles of unemployment, poverty, social vices and stagnated progress through her sincere support to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu led administration to take the country to the next level of prosperity.

“Based on her records, prudent manager of human and material resources, a detribalised Nigerian, non-religious and non-region biased nature and understanding in approaching issues that affects the different ethnic and tribal groups, we therefore declare that Delta State Ministerial nominee is equal to the task.”

Speaking on the rational and decision by Niger Delta Council of Chiefs, NDCC’s, to declare its support for Mrs Okotete, noting that the entire Delta State fell in love with her passion for the ordinary people by extending her hand of love and compassion to them as she has given lifeline and hope to many both known and unknown.

The council in a compassionate appeal to their Grand Patron and President of the 10th Senate Federal Republic Of Nigeria, Dr. Godswill Obot Akpabio, CON., that the umbrella body of all gazetted Chiefs in the Niger Delta urged him to use his good office to reward and encourage her with the Ministerial position through the senate confirmation.

“We also called on the the senate to not give a listening ears to those mischief makers who are head bent to bring our priceless daughter in the region who’s also a chief from the region, Hon Stella Okotete minister designates to a disrepute for selfish purpose.”

The council also use the medium to thank President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for appointing the Lioness of Niger Delta, assuring him that she will do her best to justify the confidence reposed in her.

Global Times Nigeria reports that Mrs Stella Okotete was a former national woman leader of the biggest political party in Africa, All Progressives, APC, and also a grassroots politician that has helped the grassroots people in various ways.
