Kogi: Ajaokuta Fed. constituency hails Rep Egidi on achievements within100 days in office.

Constituents of Ajaokuta Federal Constituency have showered praises and passed vote of confidence on their representative at the National Assembly, Hon. Sanni Egidi Abdulraheem, over his achievements in just 100 days in office.

The commendation and encomium were freely made when the Lawmaker briefed the All Progressives Congress APC leaders, stakeholders, Youths and Women from across the federal constituency “on the journey so far”over the weekend at Ganaja village in Ajaokuta local government area of Kogi state.

The briefing, which was also used to celebrate the Legislator’s 100 days in office, the report needs assessment Committee he set up to articulate the needs and concerns of the communities within the constituency submitted it’s report

Hon. Abdulkareem commended the state Governor, Alhaji Yahaya Bello, for his giant stride in the development of the state, urging the people to ensure the victory of APC Governorship candidate, Ahmed Usman Ododo, for continuity of the equitable distribution of dividends of democracy to the people.

The lawmaker also lauded the efforts of the APC chairman in the state, Alhaji Abdullahi Bello, whose tenure brought prosperity and cohesion to the party, as reflected in the victory in all the elections under his watch.

Hon Abdulraheem explained that though he was yet to get constituency or intervention fund, he has been able to achieve so much within 100 days in office using personal resources as usual in response to their genuine needs.

The Lawmaker explained that within 100 days, the notorious Ganaja primary/ High tension road, which he started before the election has been completed for the benefit of the people around the area.

He equally facilitated the repair of Ajaokuta – Adogo – Ebiya Federal High Way and the reconstruction of the Adogo old market bridge, cash empowerment for women, youths and students as part of his modest interventions in the last 100 days.

Other include; Intervention in the damaged electrical equipment as a result of thunder, which caused power outage in the Adogo – Achagana Communities.

On his performance in the House of Representatives, the Legislator disclosed that he raised a motion of urgent public importance on the floor of the house on the need for urgent intervention for the completion of the Ajaokuta Steel Company by the Federal Government and another motion on the urgent need for the federal government to intervene in the major link road between about six southern states and the north, Ganaja – Ajaokuta Federal High Way reconstruction.

He added that the electricity bill, which was dusted by the 10th National Assembly, has finally been assented to by the president of Nigeria, Senator Bola Amed Tinubu, which he said has provided for 5% for the host communities from the funds generated by electricity generating company, (GENCO) companies located in the community, which Ajaokuta is one, saying this will transform the entire community.

He assured the needs Assessment committee that their recommendations would be strictly implemented for the good of the people of Federal constituency.

Earlier while presenting the committee’s report, the chairman, Engr. Ibrahim Sadiq, a lecturer at the Federal University of Technology, (FUT), Minna, commended the Lawmaker for setting up the need assessment committee, saying it was first of it’s kind in the federal constituency as it will serve as guide in his developmental efforts.
