On Thursday 1st October was a special day in history of Nigeria, a special day which the country got her independence in 1960. This same special day coincided with birthday of two grassroot political icons, Humanitarian and youth friendly leaders, Hon. Abdullahi Suleiman Idowu, APC Chairmanship Aspirant in the just concluded consensus in Kogi LG and his brother Hon. Abdulrahman Ibrahim Akabu, the State Deputy Chairman of APC in Kogi State.
Hon. Abdullahi Suleiman Idowu, while appreciating God for the long life, strength and sound health congratulated himself, people of Kogi LG and his political family known as IDOWU TEAM, tagging the struggle as most successful considering unity of purpose exhibited by critical stakeholders where they discussed matters affecting the council at the recent leadership meeting that produced him as consensus candidate.
He also said they fought politically to become the winner at the party level despite all that happened during his emergence at the stakeholders meeting held recently in Koton-Karfe, Kogi LG headquarter with leaders from various ward in attendance.
According to the young politician, his emergence as APC consensus candidate due for December council election was strictly adhere to guidelines and mode of operandi of the party both at LG and State level.
Idowu said going by the party constitution, Article 20 of APC constitution clearly stated that, the various form of producing a candidate that will fly the party ticket are as follows:
A. Direct primaries.
B. Indirect primaries
C. Consensus .
“The consensus was agreed and approved by the appropriate Authority”.
“The process was observed strictly and religiously, and at the end of the day I emerge the winner as history was made on 27th September 2020”.
“I also want to commend the efforts of our local Government Executives, and respected party leaders for their tireless efforts toward upholding the struggle of our founding father’s of the unity forum”.
” To Some of our critical stakeholders who had invested their time, resources and emotion in time past, I pray God to reward them abundantly”.
The business man cum politician noted that the process was completely a novel for the first time in the history of Kogi local government.
“I will walk tall anywhere as I have the mandate of citizens of the local government to lead them as the next local government Executive chairman”.
“We made tremendous Achievement by upholding the zoning and sub-zoning arrangement”.
“The chairmanship position was officially zone to Zone A and it was sub-zone to Girinya for equity, justice, fairness and good conscience”.
The resolution was forwarded to the party secretariat by the local government party chairman, the Deputy state chairman, the stakeholders forum chairman, the local government women leader and some respected elders of the party
Idowu frown at some elements who scuttle the sub-zoning arrangement for selfish reason, describing them as people with void future and agent of impunity.
“For them to have failed to respect the stakeholders verdict, posterity will surely judge them tomorrow For working against justice, equity, fairness and good conscience”.
“We are able to go round our teeming supporters and critical stakeholders to plead with them to let it go despite what had happened”.
“We had call for peace because of the strategic location of our Dear local government”.
“The state government is aware of our contribution to the success of the party since 2015 till date….so Guys no course for Alarm”.
“I have call my supporters to give peace a chance, remain law abiding and Ambassador of the APC”.
“It is very important to be a role model to our younger generation to emulate”.
“We are leaders in our own different capacity, that are saddle with responsibility from the Divine Almighty”.
“So let be careful as we shall be call upon by the Almighty Allah the creator to give an account of our stewardship when we will be left alone in our grave”.
“We Remain Grateful to the people of our local government for the confidence they reposed on us”.
“I thank the central working committee of our team, the foot soldiers and every body that had given their support morally financially and otherwise”.
“I must not forget to commend the efforts of the head of IDOWU TEAM and the competent DG for giving us a smooth campaign devoid of rancour”.
“I won’t forget the struggle of our late brother and leader Hon. Muhammed Adamzihe Girinya that stood for the same course and even lost his life at the end. May his soul continue to rest in peace”.
“We remain Grateful to our Amiable Governor and the leader of our great party APC for given us the opportunity to showcase our worth”.
“Finally, I urge all our party faithful to remain loyal, so that we can together build our party to greater height as we still have some big project ahead of us”.
