Kogi Monarch Lays Foundation For Construction Of N394m Central Mosque.

The Ohimegye of Igu-Kotonkarfe kingdom, His Royal Majesty (HRM), Alhaji Abdulrazak Sani Isa-Koto, yesterday laid foundation of N394 million for the construction central mosque in the area.
Alhaji Isa-Koto, while speaking after he performed the ground breaking for the construction of the central mosque, said the project was conceived out of muslim Umamah inherent desire to construct a more befitting mosque for the muslim community of Koton-Karfe in the chiefdom.
He, therefore, advised muslims to ensure they send their children to school to acquire Islamic knowledge, saying it will help to reduce illiteracy, poverty and other social vices in the society.
Also speaking, the chairman of Kogi state Jama,tu Nasrul Islam (JNI) Usman Bello, commended the monarch for what he described as as history and monumental achievement.
He commended the Kogi state governor, Alhaji Yahaya Bello, while he expressed optimism that the governor will redeemed his pledge in ensuring success for the construction of the mosque.

On his part, Architect Alhassan Abdulmumin, disclosed that the modern central mosque, will consist of library, Islamic Education facilities, shopping plaza and Islamic classrooms.
Global Times Nigeria report that, among dignataries that graced the ground breaking ceremony were representatives of the Kogi state Grand Khadi, Justice Abdlraheem Aruwa, Kogi state Shari’a Court of Appeal, Justice Alhaji Isah Adeboye and Reverend Yaro Mai Kyau, of the Catholic Church, Koton-Karfe as well as some top clerics.
