Kogi Police Nabs 4 kidnappers, armed robbers, recovers weapons, 2 human sculls.

Kogi state Police command has arrested four persons suspected to be kidnappers and armed robbers who have been terrorising Bassa local government area of the state.

A press release signed by the Police Public Relations Officer of the command, DSP William Aya, and made available to newsmen on Wednesday, said the suspects were arrested following credible intelligence that, suspected kidnappers and armed robbers have been sighted in Oguma, headquarters of Bassa local government area.

In a swift response, operatives of Nigeria Police Force attached to Bassa division led by the DPO, stormed a compound at their hideout known as ” New Jerusalem” in Oguma where the suspects were apprehended along with the weapons, ammunition and two human sculls.

According to DSP Aya, preliminary investigation has shown that the suspects have long been terrorising Bassa Local Government area and it’s environs.

He gave the names of suspects as Guda Dangana, Dogo Chure, Dekina Zhiya and Samson Nyizo
all from Bassa Local Government area of Kogi state and the Items recovered from them include one locally made pistol, one 7.62mm ammunition, one cartridge, one G3 ammunition and two human skulls respectively.

The police spokesman stated that the suspects have made useful confession on series of criminal activities within Bassa axis and will be arraigned in court on completion of investigation.

The Kogi State Commissioner of Police, CP Idrisu Dauda Dabban, while commending the prompt response of the officers, assured members of the public that Kogi state Police Command in collaboration with other security agencies in the state will not rest on it’s oars in the continues onslaught against criminal elements and to ensure that, Kogi state remains the safest in Nigeria.
