The newly elected youth leaders of the FCT Youth Network and the six area council representatives have been presented with a certificate of return.

Our correspondent had reported that the youth network leader, Comrade Ibrahim Umar Makeri, and six representatives were on Saturday, elected during the election of a keenly contested delegate at the teacher’s house in Gwagwalada, Abuja.

The returning officer of the election, Mr. George Sabo Kuje, while presenting the certificates to the newly elected FCT Youth Network leaders at a ceremony held in the AOIYEO office in Abuja on Tuesday, urged the youth leader and the representatives to live up to the expectations of the youth across the territory.

He urged them to also bear in their minds that the confidence reposed in them by the youths should be seen as a big task ahead of them, saying the public especially the media will be watching their activities as they pilot affairs of the youth in the FCT.

“And as I am congratulating the newly elected youth leader and the six area councils representatives, you should also bear it in your minds that there is a big task ahead of all of you as the media and international media will keep eyes on your activities,” he said.

Also speaking, the executive director of the Original Inhabitants Youths Empowerment Organization (AOIYEO) Commandant Isaac David, congratulated the youth and the six area councils representatives of the FCT Youth Network for their victory at the polls.

He urged the newly elected youth network executives to ensure they discharge their duties with diligence without any compromise, saying they must be conscious of the big tasks ahead of them.

He also advised them against castigating leaders ahead of them, adding that they should ensure they discharge their duties by Nigeria’s constitution so that they will also become leaders in the future.
