Police promotes PPRO, 5 others to Superintendent in Kogi Command.

The Police Public Relation Officer (PPRO), Kogi state command, Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Ovie William Aya, alongside 5 others who are among the recently promoted officers as released by Inspector General of Police, Baba Alkali, were on Monday decorated with their new ranks of Superintendent.
Performing the decoration ceremony on Monday at the State Police Headquarters in Lokoja, the Commissioner of Police, Kogi state command CP Edward Chuka Egbuka, expressed gratitude to President Muhammadu Buhari and the Inspector General of Police for approving the promotion of officers which is encouragement for hard work and discipline.
CP Egbuka who explained the significance of Police all over the world noted that the force is key to the development of any nation and that the attitudes of officers portray the nature of force.
He said that though, Police service is a sacrifice, gallantry, commitment, patriotism should be rewarded as when due.
Kogi State Governor, Alhaji Yahaya Bello, who was represented by the State Security Adviser, Commodore Jerry Omodara (rtd) commended the Inspector General of Police and all the Commissioners of Police that served in the state for their diligence and commitments to their assignment which has drastically reduced crime in the state.

The State Security Adviser noted with gratitude the efforts of the police in synergy with other sister security agencies, which ruthlessly dealt with all forms of criminalities which has brought about sanity and freed the residents and visitors from the gangsterism that almost consume the state.
He saluted the Inspector General of Police, Baba Alkali for the provision of additional vehicles for the state Police command, urging the officers to properly utilise them for the purpose they are meant for.
Omodara, while congratulating the newly promoted officers, advised them to redouble their efforts and commitments to make the state safe for all.
AIG in charge of zone 8, Ayuba Ede Ekpeji, who represented the Inspector General of Police at the decoration ceremony, said the Police Force will be expecting positive results from the state command as more logistics has been provided.
In his remarks, Chairman Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Adeiza Momoh Jimoh congratulated the PPRO, William Aya and others promoted by the Force headquarters.
He expressed satisfaction with the cordial relationship between Journalists and the State Police Command and other security agencies and called for a more robust relationship with all security agencies.
Other officers promoted and decorated include Victor Ikewu, Steven Ujah, While Emma and Nnamdi Fidelis are Superintendent ranks, while Ocheni Enejo who was an ASP has been promoted to the rank of DSP.
