Southeast LP chieftain, Utah assesses Abia’s development in last 32yrs after creation by military junta

A prominent chieftain of the labour party from the southeast, Chief Chukwuemeka Utah, has assessed the socio-economic and infrastructural development in Abia state in the last 32 years since after its creation by then military government in Nigeria.

He regretted that Abia is yet to attain its economic greatness and the needed infrastructural growths since after her creation.

Utah, who was a former Abia house of assembly candidate, bared his mind on Wednesday, on the backdrops of recent occasion of the celebration of 32nd anniversary of Abia’s creation by the then military regime headed by retired Major General Ibrahim Badamosi Babangida in August 27, 1991.

Recal that Abia, otherwise known as ‘God’s Own State’ was curved out from Old Imo state, situating in southeast geo-political part of Nigeria by same Babangida-led military administration.

Earlier, Utah, the Chief Executive Officer of Taurus Hotels Limited, Umuahia, noted that throughout the years, Abia has faced its fair share of challenges and obstacles, urging government at all levels in the country to shift attention and focus to present and promising future that lies ahead, rather than the past failures.

While also assessing the ongoing efforts of the present leadership of Governor Alex Chioma Otti, to engender genuine infrastructural development in all stratas in the state as Abia marked 32 yrs of het creation, Mr Utah maintained that Abia citizens have witnessed a renewed sense of determination and dedication toward the betterment of the state under the current Otti-led administration.

According to him, “We believe in Dr. Oti’s vision for rapid development and an infrastructure revolution that will transform our state and position it as a shining example among others created in the same year.

“As we celebrate this milestone, let us remember the strength and resilience of our people. We have always been known for our hard work, entrepreneurial spirit, and unity.

“It is through our collective efforts that we can overcome any challenges that come our way and propel our state toward prosperity”.

The party stalwart encouraged every Abia citizens to embrace the opportunity in contributing to growth and development of Abia State.

“Let us actively participate in building a brighter future by supporting government initiatives, engaging in productive dialogue, and fostering a culture of innovation and progress”,he added.

Utah further used the medium to extend his heartfelt goodwill to all Abians on the joyous occasion of celebrating 32 years since the creation of the state.

According to him,”It is a time for reflection, appreciation, and anticipation for the future”.
