Speaker Balarabe restates Nasarawa Assembly commitment to sponsoring impactful bill.

Speaker, Nasarawa State House of Assembly Rt. Hon. Ibrahim Balarabe Abdullahi has underscored the significant role Governor Abdullahi Sule is playing towards sustaining peace and security of lives and prosperities of the citizenry.

He also reassured of the 7th Assembly’s commitment to support the State Government with more legislations that will enhance peace and security in the State for the benefit of all.

The Speaker who was represented by his Deputy Rt. Hon. Abel Yakubu Bala stated this at a Sensitisation Workshop on Women, Peace and Security holding at Port-Harcourt, the Rivers State Capital.

The Workshop sponsored by Norwegian Embassy in collaboration with Nigeria Institute for Legislative and Democratic Studies had in attendance Speakers of Benue, Ekiti, Plateau and Kogi States while that of Nasarawa was represented by his deputy alongside Two Hon. Members, Hajara Danyaro, Peter Akwe and the Acting Clerk of the House Ibrahim Musa.

Speaking at the event, the Nasarawa State Deputy Speaker Rt.Hon. Abel Yakubu Bala hailed Governor Abdullahi Sule on his Peace efforts in the State which has gone a long way in securing the people as well as his gender inclusiveness in governance by appointing more women in key positions and empowering vulnerable ones among the women folk.

He revealed that the State Assembly will give the Governor all the necessary legislative backing to enhance peace, unity, security and more women empowerment in the State.

The workshop was among other things to ensure prevention of conflict and all forms of violence against women and girls, involvement of more women in decision making and general participation.

The was further gathered that the summit drew participants from across State Houses of Assembly in the country.
